Autism Assessment Greenacre

Comprehensive Autism Assessment Greenacre

Finding clarity, one step at a time.

Autism assessments designed for daily life and growth.

At PsychWell, we conduct autism assessments for children and adults. These assessments aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of how communication, social interaction, and behaviour patterns play a role in daily life.

Taking a warm and sensitive approach, your psychologist weighs observations together with insights gathered from family and other relevant sources. We look beyond standard checklists, dedicating time to understanding each person’s strengths and needs so we can offer practical strategies and helpful next steps.

Greenacre Autism Assessment

What is involved in an autism assessment?

Wouldn’t it be helpful to gain clarity about whether ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or giftedness may be relevant before committing to a full diagnostic assessment?

At PsychWell, our process is designed to be thoughtful, staged, and transparent so families may feel informed and confident at every step, without unnecessary cost or overwhelm.

Discovery call

A brief and welcoming conversation to gain an understanding of your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether an assessment pathway may be a suitable next step.

Initial consultation

A comprehensive clinical session that draws on screening measures, careful observation, and open discussion. This step helps to establish whether proceeding to a full assessment may be appropriate.

Comprehensive assessment

This stage involves a clinical interview alongside formal standardised assessments. All findings are brought together into a comprehensive written report.

Feedback Session

A set-aside session to go through the results in detail, offer clear responses to your questions, and outline practical recommendations and appropriate next steps.

This structured approach ensures that families receive professional guidance early, and only proceed to full assessment when it is clinically appropriate, supporting informed decision-making and meaningful outcomes.

Who we assess

If you are thinking about an autism assessment for yourself or your child, please feel welcome to reach out to our clinic whenever you feel ready.

We offer a supportive, professional assessment process designed to provide clarity, understanding, and practical recommendations for home, school, work, and daily life.

Common autism assessment questions

ASD is a neurodevelopmental condition that may have an impact on communication, connection, and behaviour. It can be identified at different stages of life, spanning childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
An autism assessment is usually completed over one or two appointments. This is so that there is enough time for a formal assessment, observations, and a feedback session.
Your psychologist brings together clinical interviews, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, standardised tests, and neuropsychological assessments to provide a comprehensive assessment that is consistent with national guidelines.
Yes. Our reports are prepared by registered psychologists and clinical psychologists. These may be useful for NDIS applications under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, as well as school-based learning and support needs.
