Assessments

Comprehensive Autism Assessment North Strathfield
A journey towards greater clarity.
Autism assessments aiming for a clearer path forward in life and learning.
At PsychWell, we provide autism assessments for children and adults. These assessments are intended to help you develop a clearer understanding of how communication, social interaction, and behaviour patterns influence everyday life.

Understanding the autism assessment process
Understanding whether ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or giftedness may be a factor in your or your child’s experiences can be an important consideration before committing to a full diagnostic assessment.
At PsychWell, our process is designed to be thoughtful, staged, and transparent so families may feel informed and confident at every step, without unnecessary cost or overwhelm.
Discovery call
A brief and welcoming conversation to gain an understanding of your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether an assessment pathway may be a suitable next step.
Initial consultation
A detailed clinical session that includes screening measures, observation, and discussion. This step helps clarify whether a full assessment may be indicated.
Comprehensive assessment
At this stage, a clinical interview is conducted along with formal standardised assessments. The findings are then consolidated into a detailed written report.
Feedback Session
A purposeful session designed to explain your results clearly, respond to any questions, and discuss practical recommendations along with helpful next steps.
Who we provide assessments for
We conduct Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments across a wide range of ages, including comprehensive autism assessments for toddlers, school-aged children, teenagers, and adults. Each assessment is individually tailored to the person’s developmental stage, strengths, challenges, and everyday functioning.
Our psychologists support individuals and families seeking a clear, evidence-based autism assessment, whether concerns relate to communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, learning differences, or sensory sensitivities.
If you are considering an autism assessment for yourself or your child, you are welcome to contact our clinic when the time feels right.

Common signs and behaviours we consider

- Repetitive or comforting behaviours
- Limited or reduced eye contact
- Subtle or limited facial expressions
- Challenges in interpreting social cues
- A strong preference for routines
- Feeling overwhelmed in noisy settings
