Assessments

Comprehensive educational assessment Leichhardt
Insight into learning, strengths, and needs.
Educational assessments for learning and development
Educational assessments for children and adolescents aim to build a clearer picture of how a student learns. They're designed to offer insight into their strengths, needs, and the factors that shape their academic experiences.
At PsychWell, we take a whole-learner approach, considering how each young person thinks, feels, and engages with the world. Using science-informed tools to explore each student’s learning profile, we provide thoughtful, personalised guidance that nurtures well-being and supports academic growth.

Cognitive assessments
(WISC-V)
Achievement assessments
(WIAT-III)
What educational assessments can uncover
These assessments may explore:
- Cognitive skills such as reasoning, memory, and processing speed
- Academic abilities in reading, writing, and maths
- Learning behaviours like focus and problem-solving
- Processing patterns that may influence how a child learns
- Strengths and areas where extra support may be helpful

Educational assessment questions we're here to answer
What is the difference between cognitive and achievement assessments?
Cognitive assessments look at how a person thinks, reasons, and processes information. Achievement assessments, on the other hand, focus on academic abilities such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
How long do the assessments take?
Assessments typically take a few hours, spread across one or two sessions. This approach allows enough time for a careful and developmentally informed process.
Are the assessment reports suitable for use by schools and allied health professionals?
Yes. Reports produced through our assessment process are recognised by schools and other allied health or educational professionals, and may help guide relevant support.
Does the assessment come with a full written report and recommendations?
Yes. A clear, personalised written report is provided, including recommendations designed to support learning and well-being.
Do your assessments cover giftedness and learning disorders?
Yes. Our assessments can explore learning strengths, giftedness, and potential learning disorders, helping to develop a clearer and more complete understanding of each individual learner’s needs.
