Autism Assessment Concord

Comprehensive Autism Assessment Concord

A path towards understanding.

Autism assessments aiming for a clearer path forward in life and learning.

At PsychWell, we conduct autism assessments for children and adults. These assessments aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of how communication, social interaction, and behaviour patterns play a role in daily life.

Using a sensitive approach, your psychologist considers observations alongside insights from family and other relevant sources. We look beyond checklists, taking the time to understand each person’s strengths and needs to offer supportive strategies and next steps.

Concord Autism Assessment

What is involved in an autism assessment?

It can be worthwhile to explore whether ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or giftedness may be relevant to your situation before proceeding with a full diagnostic assessment.

At PsychWell, our assessment process is structured to be thoughtful, staged, and clear, aiming to help families feel informed and at ease at every stage, without undue cost or complexity.

Discovery call

A brief and welcoming conversation to gain an understanding of your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether an assessment pathway may be a suitable next step.

Initial consultation

A thorough clinical session incorporating screening measures, observation, and in-depth discussion. This step assists in determining whether a full assessment may be warranted.

Comprehensive assessment

This stage encompasses a clinical interview and formal standardised assessments, with all findings carefully integrated into a thorough written report.

Feedback Session

A focused session dedicated to walking you through the results, addressing your questions, and exploring practical recommendations and meaningful next steps.

This structured approach ensures that families receive professional guidance early, and only proceed to full assessment when it is clinically appropriate, supporting informed decision-making and meaningful outcomes.

Who our assessments are for

We offer Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, encompassing comprehensive autism assessments for toddlers, school-aged children, teenagers, and adults. Every assessment is carefully tailored to reflect the individual’s developmental stage, personal strengths, challenges, and day-to-day functioning.

Our psychologists provide support to individuals and families pursuing a clear, evidence-based autism assessment, regardless of whether concerns centre on communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, learning differences, or sensory sensitivities.

If an autism assessment for yourself or your child is something you are exploring, we welcome you to contact our clinic whenever the time feels suitable.

We provide a supportive, professional assessment process aimed at offering clarity, understanding, and practical recommendations across home, school, work, and daily life.

Common autism assessment questions

ASD is a neurodevelopmental condition that often affects communication, connection, and behaviour. It is typically identified across different age groups, including childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
An autism assessment is usually completed over one or two appointments. This is so that there is enough time for a formal assessment, observations, and a feedback session.
Your psychologist brings together clinical interviews, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, standardised tests, and neuropsychological assessments to provide a comprehensive assessment that is consistent with national guidelines.
Yes. Our reports are written by registered psychologists and clinical psychologists. They may be of assistance for NDIS applications under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, as well as for school-based learning and support needs.
